The PROOF-BP calculator is an evidence-based tool for use in predicting a patient’s out-of-office blood pressure. The algorithm has been derived and validated previously in a research setting, but it’s accuracy in routine clinical practice cannot be guaranteed – validation in a clinical setting is ongoing.
The calculator has been designed for use:
The calculator uses basic patient demographics (age, sex, height, weight, history of cardiovascular disease/hypertension and antihypertensive treatment) and multiple clinic blood pressure readings
(3 readings taken consecutively at 1 minute intervals within the same visit) to estimate what an individual’s blood pressure would be if it were measured at home or with ambulatory monitoring.
